The Christian Center

"The Christian Center (TCC) is a nonprofit organization which provides a Men’s Shelter, Community Assistance Program, and Community Dining Room in Madison County, Indiana. As a Men’s Shelter and Recovery Program, TCC houses 45-65 homeless men, giving them access to basic necessities, counseling and specialized classes, all in a safe and structured environment free of drugs and alcohol. TCC also serves the outside community, providing clothing, meals, and household necessities for over 800 individuals throughout the year.

To keep both our clients and residents safe, we want to make sure that any resident needing more intensive alcohol recovery is referred to a rehabilitative service provider. Through the donation of the AlcoHAWK ABI, we are able to keep our grounds alcohol free and refer clients who need more specialized help in their recovery process. We are so appreciative of Q3I’s donation of this device!"

Teen with a Dream

Since 2003, Teen with a Dream Foundation has been helping children and teens with cancer.

Started by Spencer Harrison during his own chemotherapy for Hodgkin’s Lymphoma at age 14, each program is designed to combat the educational challenges, social isolation and emotional trauma as well as the financial stress of the cancer diagnosis and treatment.

Here are a few of our programs –

ART Therapy  - our newest addition provides the
patient, parents and siblings a weekly outlet to express
themselves under the guidance of our therapist.

Chemo Day Care Bags – provide a touch of cheer
and fun on treatment days.

Child Friendly Environments – By providing cozy,
cheerful offices we reduce anxiety…every little bit helps.

DVD & Game System Libraries – stocked with the
newest movies and video games switching the focus
away from pain.

Educational Support Programs – frequent absences,
hospitalizations and "chemo brain" plague the
student/patient causing additional stress.
Laptops & Internet access for online schooling
Tutor Hours are provided for additional help
College Scholarships for future academic success

Germ Lite Events –  these combat social isolation and
loneliness in a germ reduced environment that promotes
peer interaction.

Germ Lite Movie Premier s –  A private screening in a Germ
Lite Environment that provides a much needed
break from treatment.

Giving Trees – Going to the doctor is bad enough and worse
during the holidays.  Our 2 decorated trees give the
child something to look anticipate and letting them choose
an "ornament" each visit produces smiles and giggles.

Parent Support Group – Feelings of helplessness, hopelessness,
guilt, stress, fear accompany you from diagnosis well into
survivorship.   By reducing the stress in the home the child
is better able to concentrate on healing.

In the past 6 years we have helped over 10,000 children with cancer and with your continued support we will reach more children and add more programs in 2010.

Thank you,
Spencer Harrison, Founder & Survivor

Project Guardian Angel

We are a Non Profit organization determined to reduce if not eliminate Drinking and Driving by Marines and Sailors in and around Jacksonville NC. The Marine Corps took a great first step introducing the Arrive Alive Program. But as we all know there are a few problems with the program. Marines do not want to use the AAP in fear of their commands thinking they have a drinking problem. Some Marines don’t use the program because they don’t feel they have had too many drinks to drive. Other Marines don’t use the program because they already had too many drinks to make that intelligent decision. Either way that is where we step in. We are a group of volunteers that fill in the holes left by all the other programs out there trying to prevent Drunk Driving. We take a little time out of our weekend to go to some of the more established bars and clubs here in Jacksonville to help our Marines and Sailors make the right decisions. We do this by showing them just how drunk they are using digital breathalyzers. We will then assist them by providing them a way home through one of our many resources. We will also provide them a way back to their car the next morning just so there are no excuses. We are always professional and polite but we also work in groups of four to five incase that does not work. As Marines and Sailors we would do anything for the wellbeing and health of our men and women in combat. Why not the same in the states?

We are looking for Men and Women of all ages civilian or military who want to make a difference in their community and in their service. You will be provided with training, transportation if needed, and equipment. We are looking for men and women that are polite, level headed and courteous. We need people who can stay calm under pressure and make quick decisions. If you have had a DUI or DWI this is a great way to give back to your community or service. If you have ever had a family member or loved one taken from you by a drunk driver like I have, do it for them. This is a great way to volunteer and make an impact on your community, You can even use this as time toward your volunteer medal. No matter what your reason is... just do it. Please contact us through our E-mail for any questions or support. Please help us in our fight against drunk driving.
